Alan Quinn made his first appearance in a Town shirt as the Blues reserves recorded a resounding 12-1 victory over the MK Dons at Playford Road. Jordan Rhodes netted six, while Jaime Peters, Billy Clarke, Sammy Moore, Dan Harding, Paul Murphy and Ed Upson were also on the scoresheet.

Cork City manager Alan Mathews says Town have told midfielder George O'Callaghan that he can find a new club. Cork, from whom O'Callaghan joined Town a year ago, are one of a number of clubs on both sides of the Irish Sea interested in the 28-year-old.

Town's woeful away run continued as the Blues were defeated 2-0 at Leicester City. The Foxes scored twice from first half set pieces, via Richard Stearman and Patrick Kisnorbo, while Jon Walters hit the post for Town, but the Blues never looked like getting back into the game.

Town's U18s rested a number of regulars as they lost 2-0 to West Ham at a very windy Playford Road on Saturday morning. The U16s took their superb home and away winning run to 11 games with a 4-2 victory over the Hammers.

Owen Garvan, Billy Clarke and Tommy Smith have all be forced out of international squads by injury. Garvan and Clarke were due to play for the Irish U21s at home to Bulgaria on Tuesday, while Smith was set for action with the England U18s against Ghana at Gillingham the same night.

Town have recalled striker Jordan Rhodes back to Portman Road at the end of his month's loan at Oxford United. The Blue Square Premier club had wanted to keep the 17-year-old for an extended spell.

Oxford United boss Jim Smith has heaped praise on Town striker Jordan Rhodes. The 17-year-old is currently on loan at the Kassam Stadium and netted both goals as his temporary club defeated Merthyr Tydfil 2-1 in the FA Cup at the weekend.
